    Brian Liu, Esq.
    Chief Executive Officer

    Brian Liu leads the BizCounsel team. Prior to starting BizCounsel, he developed the concept for LegalZoom (NASDAQ: LZ) in 1999, became its first CEO until 2007, and served as Chairman until 2018. In addition to his work with BizCounsel, Brian manages a real estate investment fund, sits on the board of DaZen Theranostics, a cancer therapy startup, and is an active angel investor. Brian graduated from UCLA School of Law and started his career as an attorney for Sullivan & Cromwell and Oaktree Capital. +

    Arya Firoozmand, Esq.
    Chief of Customer Experience

    Arya Firoozmand leads our customer experience team and oversees product innovation and the end-to-end customer journey. Before BizCounsel, Arya founded ClaimCounsel, an innovative attorney lead generation service which was merged into BizCounsel. Arya graduated from UCLA School of Law and started his career as an attorney for Newmeyer & Dillon, where he helped business owners fight for coverage when they were wrongfully denied on their insurance claims. +

    Chief Legal Officer

    Curt Brown heads our legal innovation and compliance teams. Curt started his legal career at the prestigious Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella. In 2015, Curt was named a California Attorney of the Year by the Daily Journal and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by USC Law School. Curt earned his JD from UCLA, where he was the Michael T. Masin Scholar and Staff Editor of the Entertainment Law Review. Curt is admitted to practice in the states of CA, CO, DC, FL, IL, MI and WA. +

  • Aja Hashian

    Aja Hashian
    Director of Client Relations

    Aja Hashian leads our Client Relations and Sales Teams. Previously, Aja was in charge of sales and service at ScoreBig, a sports ticketing start-up. She served similar roles for the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers. In addition to her work for BizCounsel, she is a songwriter for Genuine Artist Management, where she writes music for R&B, Pop and Hip-Hop artists. +

    Sean Williams
    Director of Technology

    Sean leads BizCounsel’s technology team. Previously, he managed development teams for various high-tech startups including ScoreBig and AskTipster. In addition, he developed software currently used by Lexus, UCLA, and the Colorado Department of Labor. Sean earned a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado. +

    Front End Developer

    As a part of the technology team, Nick crafts the visual and interactive aspects of the BizCounsel website. He has worked in several creative fields, including 3D modeling, screen printing, branding, and web development, for clientele ranging from small home businesses in Colorado to tech startups in Dubai. Nick has a bachelors degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado. +

    Howard Miller, Esq.
    Past President of California
    State Bar Association

    Howard was formerly president of the State Bar Association of California, Professor at USC School of Law, and a partner at a major law firm. Currently, he serves as a mediator and arbitrator for complex commercial disputes.

    Sally Robertson, Esq.
    Legal Tech Advisor

    Sally serves as a consultant and advisor to legal tech companies. She was formerly the CEO of Stirling Blue, a CRM solution for subscription legal plans, and Vice President of Attorney Services at LegalZoom.

    Kamran is an entrepreneur and early stage investor based in Los Angeles. Previously, he was the CEO and co-founder of PriceGrabber, a comparison shopping site.

    Shamin Walsh, Esq.
    Managing Director, BAM Ventures

    Shamin has over 13+ years as an active angel investor. She oversees three funds with investments in over 200 companies. She started her career as a transactional attorney and was a Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at Loyola University.
